2023 Convention - Waynesboro, VA
The ACIF convention in October 2023 met meet in Waynesboro, Virginia. The convention dates were October 12 - 14, and fall was in the air in Augusta County. We were all greeted at the hotel with lovely baskets wrapped in gold cellophane containing items celebrating the 50th anniversary of The American Collectors of Infant Feeders. (Thank you Jody!) On Friday most of us went to the Antique Expo in Fishersville. There were outside and inside stalls, something for everyone to see! Hostess Jody Woodward had us to her house in Swoope see her feeder and nursing/hospital related collections. What a joy to see how she had everything displayed. Luncheon was sandwiches, salad, chips and a yummy cake. Only two days later Jody moved out of her adorable A-frame house.
The Residence Inn Waynesboro at 44 Windigrove Drive was a great place to stay. The rooms had kitchenettes and sitting areas. The lobby had breakfast and a wonderful seating area. We brought back the lunch leftovers from Jody's, the hotel put them up in the fridge, and we enjoyed them for dinner. The actual meeting room was a bit tight, but the 23 attendees managed to squeeze in.
Thank you to Teresa Davis for her framed poem to everyone! She also presented Don and Joyce LaFont with special momentos recognizing the 50th anniversary of our group.
Bob Beckerer brought the remaining feeders from Mrytle Clark's collection for the sale and there were other items from Don, Jinny Brodsky, Kay Davidson, and others.
